The famous Ninkasi brewery-distillery passionately crafts single malts brewed, distilled and aged in Tarare (a few kilometers from Lyon). Each bottle is the fruit of unique know-how based on barley malts (acquired since their first brew in 1997) and aging in wine casks from the region’s terroirs. Ninkasi Whisky Chardonnay is the distillery’s first permanent single malt. It is blended from new French oak, ex-Chardonnay and ex-Viognier casks. Once the bottle is opened, aromas of tonka bean and salted butter toffee mingle with a background of white grapes. Stewed apricot and plum coat the palate. The finish is long and smooth. A light smoky note reminiscent of fresh lemon thyme rounds out the experience.

Tasting notes
Aroma
a veritable ode to gourmandise. Tonka bean and salted butter caramel intermingle against a background of white grapes. A hint of cocoa and a slight oxidative note (prune) make their appearance.
Taste
Plum and apricot compote generously coat your mouth. Long, smooth finish. A smoky note and lemon thyme bring the journey to a close.
