The expression « angels’ share », which refers to the volume of alcohol evaporated during barrel ageing, actually originated on the Isle of Islay, in the village of Bowmore to be precise. Built on a circular plan in 1767, its church could not be penetrated by the devil, who always hides in corners. With no place to hide, the devil, pursued by the villagers, ran to take shelter in the cellars of a distillery. There, discovering angels feasting on the precious nectar, he was forced to leave the island. A worthy representative of Scottish savoir-faire, this whisky has an intensely smoky profile, with lovely lemony, iodized notes. Bottled at 46%, it is produced without chill filtration or coloring.
